Bendigo Toyota have been sponsors of Bendigo Foodshare since 2015.
We immediately jumped at the chance to help Foodshare after hearing of the hidden poverty levels that are a reality for so many people in our community. Currently 1 in 9 people in our community
Food Insecurity doesn't discriminate…it can affect people struggling with homelessness, addictions, but also professionals who may find themselves out of a job or underemployed with loans and commitments to meet.
Foodshare does an incredible job of sourcing and distributing food throughout the region to those in need, be it through schools, community groups and emergency relief organisations.
Throughout the year, we take up the challenge to host a community Food Drive and aim to fill the tubs of Hilux's with non perishable food and personal hygiene donations. We host a drive-through donation drop in the front yard of our dealership. We also jump in a HiLux and head out to supermarkets to encourage everyone to grab a few extra cans of food, bags of rice, boxes of cereal or jars of vegemite to place in the back.
To date, led by our Marketing Manager Gabe RIchards, we have helped collect more than 3 tonnes of food for Bendigo Foodshare. We have also raised more than $130,000 for the organsiation through our annual Golf Day.

Bendigo Health Foundation
With over 3,500 staff and covering an area a quarter the size of Victoria, Bendigo Health is a 653 bed service that treats over 37,000 in-patients, deals with over 45,000 emergency attendances and 1200 babies born each year. These services are complemented by a 60-bed rehabilitation unit, eight bed critical care unit and five operating theatres where around 10,000 surgical procedures are performed annually.
Bendigo Health has been fundraising since the early 1800s. The Bendigo Health Foundation team, with volunteer support, is responsible for all fundraising for the organisation. Monies raised through the foundation, fund various aspects towards improving patient care.
Bendigo Toyota has been a proud supporter of Bendigo Health for a number of years. Our partnership with the Bendigo Health Foundation is more than 15 years old and continues to grow. Bendigo Toyota supports the Foundation by providing a Toyota Kluger to help with fundraising activities. The use of the Kluger means the Foundation doesn’t have to find money in its budget for a vehicle.
Bendigo Toyota is also one of the Bendigo Health Foundation's major partner for their Move For Mental Health Initiative every October. Our staff take up the challenge to complete various physical activities while raising more than $15,000 for the Foundation.
